A Note About This Blog

I used to be a writer. Unpublished, but a writer just the same. I have several 100,000 word novels sitting on my hard drive. Then I fell off a horse and got a concussion that scrambled my brains really good (yes, I was wearing a helmet.) After that forming a written sentence was very difficult for quite some time. It's still difficult, but at least now generally the sentence structure isn't egregiously flawed. Verbally and written wrong words pop in, I switch words around, and sometimes I make no sense at all. It isn't because I don't have knowledge of grammar and punctuation, but my brain simply can't do it sometimes. Reading this blog you're accepting that there's going to be things that look like typos or make no sense. It's not because I don't proofread, it's because my damaged brain doesn't see what's wrong. I try my best, but things will slip through. I don't need them pointed out, I know they're there, but if I continued to worry about them I wouldn't write at all. I didn't for quite some time. It's painful as a past master of words to use them so badly, but fortunately the words don't seem to mind.

8000 views?

Wow. I feel like I should have a party, or a give away, or something. Alas, all I have to give away is horse poop or the ribbons from the local club that are so old the glue is disintegrating. 8000 is small for some people, but it feels like a milestone.

So, I shall give you a pic I somehow haven't shared yet. Naners and I schooling XC after watermelon. The pro photographer, a friend of mine, was willing to stick around long enough to get this.

It's now one of my favorite pictures. It's hard to see, but the desert is just full of wildflowers. And speaking of pro photographer friend, I'm going to be her second shooter at Colorado Horse Park in August. The person she had arranged backed out and she was at the point she was going to have to fly someone in and was then like, "Wait. Pam understands light and proper timing" and she gave me a call to see if I was available. I've never been to CHP, so I'm very excited.

Banana's leg is still not healed.  It was well enough we took the wrap off and it was leaking something. The vet thinks she must have nicked her joint capsule when she got the puncture and was leaking synovial fluid! So, the wrap is back on. Good thing I had no plans this summer other than trail riding, and fortunately there's always spare horses to trail ride. I just wish my mare would heal though.
